What I’m thinking these days is…
could it be that the presbyters have got a divine clue as to the Almighty going soft on fornication? As in… maybe the consequences of fornication have been subsidized further by the mercy of God, and it’s not as bad anymore. Or… could it be that every scary thing they’ve ever told us about fornication as a sin is a lie?? And adultery too! Or is the case simply that… everyone now knows the truth and, do what you like, you’ll pay the price?!

Do priests, and maybe pastors, have certain information that we don’t? Maybe, for sanity sake, they’re keeping the actual situation from us so the world doesn’t burst from too much promiscuity?
We who have read about Kings David and Solomon… and all their amoral escapades… also read that they were God’s favorites. So I keep seeing God’s “chosen” ones… living like they have a divine fiat to shag the women in their congregation. I’ve never actually seen; so this is an accusation.

It is surprising – annoying even – when in a relationship, you are struggling over the moral issue of sex before marriage and you see a so-called man of God doing otherwise
As it were, he, for whom it should be a greater taboo, leads the way into the waters you’ve been scared to swim in.

So… I begin to wonder if it is a non-issue indeed; if the No-Sex-Before-Marriage injunction is actually a directive by the Federal Government to keep the population in check… or to keep the population focused on nobler goals that will benefit the society.
…because as the years go by, the sin question is evaded in churches as pastors seek Doctorate Degrees and wealth in order to be seen as true repositories of God’s blessings of success and prosperity. The presbyter isn’t as much worried about the congregation avoiding sin, as it is about how to raise money to complete the church building, and make of every church member a financial success.

Young couples have no guidance these days on matters of sex; they generate their own tenets and do what they agree on. It is now to your tents, O Israel! The girl wants to hear the boy’s argument about why she should allow him. It’s a debate now. If he convinces her with sound reasoning, the door opens for him.
When they go to church later, they’re not asked how things are at home… they’re urged to sow a seed! And why won’t they! After all, it was the pastor’s Life-Partner-Miracle that has started their journey.

Be mindful. You probably better than the man of God you’re running after. But then, just do what's right. Like someone would say you’re going to rendezvous with God and not a mere man…
