Hi everyone, it's good to be here again. I enjoy the support I received from my last post here. For the upvotes and words of encouragement in your comments. Thank you, I so much appreciate.

About the topic, it's true that no one talks about alcoholism and its damaging impacts. Personally, I don't consume alcohol neither is my husband. That's because our faith.
Besides, after I've looked at the people who consume alcohol products, the after effects on them, I just concluded that there's nothing so particular about drinking alcohol. Back to the contest;

When can we say that a person is an alcoholic? Give reasons for your answer!

Firstly, alcoholism is the excessive and continuous consumption of alcohol. So, a person can be said to be an alcoholic when he has no control over the consumption of alcohol. The individual cannot control his/her appetite in taking alcoholic products.

Do you think alcohol is a drug? justify your answer!

Yes, alcohol is a drug that's what I think. I'm saying so because of its addiction. Apart from addiction, its ability to influence the behaviour of the user and the after effects of the substance makes me come to the conclusion that alcohol is a drug.
In my country, I have heard of people who takes alcohol and then begin to misbehave like sleep by the roadside, some fall into drainages, some will take certain decisions which they ordinarily wouldn't have taken all because of the influence of alcohol.

Can alcoholism be considered a disease? How to control it!

No, I wouldn't say that alcoholism is a disease. But I can say that alcoholic consumption can lead to some certain health problems or worsen a health situation such as liver and kidney problems. This is because of the way the alcoholics look swollen here in my country.
Alcoholism can be controlled if the individual involved is taken for rehabilitation.

Is every drinker considered an alcoholic?

No, I won't consider every drinker an alcoholic. There are people who just take just a tip of of it and sometimes once in a long while. An alcoholic is someone who can't do without drinking.
A typical example is a woman in village who drinks alcohol as if she's eating food, she can't live without it. Infact, she has been banned severally from buy anything called alcohol from members of the village but she'll travel and leave the community to another to buy large amount of the products for her personal consumption. It's as terrible one.

There's nothing enticing, special or good about the consumption of alcohol. I see some men in my country believe if they can consume alcohol to prove their manly strength or their physical ability.
Alcohol destroys, desist from taking it!

Thank you, @hive-168205 for giving me the opportunity to participate in this contest.

I completely agree with you that when a person drinks too much alcohol, he behaves very badly with people. His family feels embarrassed when he falls into a drain on the road after drinking alcohol or sleeps on the road and creates a scene in front of everyone. If a person who drinks alcohol thinks about his family, he will not have to suffer from dirty diseases like alcoholism.

Thank you, for your contribution, I appreciate.

No, I won't consider every drinker an alcoholic. There are people who just take just a tip of of it and sometimes once in a long while. An alcoholic is someone who can't do without drinking.

Yes dear, I believe you. An alcoholic is a person who is addicted and cannot do with the substance. I've seen a person sell his belongings and properties just to buy a bottle of alcohol. Alcohol is no doubts a major threat in our society today and needs self discipline for it to be stopped by individuals.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi @eveetim
It is true, not everyone who likes to drink on occasion can be considered an alcoholic. There are many differences between an alcoholic and a normal drinker.

It's a pity that the woman in your town has alcohol on her mind and must always be aware of it, if she only knew the serious harm that excessive drinking does to her. Let's hope she comes to her senses someday about what she is doing.

Greetings and success!

I believe it is a disease. The World Health Organization classified it as a chronic brain disorder. However, excessive alcohol consumption can result in diseases such as liver cancer, heart problems, and nerve problems. Good luck with the contest.

I completely agree with you whatever you have talked about alcohol and you justification is valid that it's a drug because it is just like addiction. I agree with you that after the intake of alcohol everyone loose its consciousness that's why it is also prohibited in my religion which is Islam and if I talk about another question in which you have talked about alcoholism that it's a disease than I also agree with that this is an explanation that try to convey to all of us I wish you success in this engagement challenge
