Theme Park Ghibli Will Be Opened in 2020
Studio Ghibli currently has a museum that has been open since 2001 yesterday in Tokyo, it seems they will also develop a bigger attraction in the near future. It was revealed that a theme park Ghibli will be opened in 2020 later in Aichi. More precisely, EXPO Park owned Aichi prefecture will be transformed to the theme of Ghibli. On May 31st, producer Ghibli Toshio Suzuki and Governor Hideaki Oomura held a conference that revealed the summary of this project plan.
The park in Nagakute city was once used for World EXPO events in 2005, so some facilities and infrastructure such as swimming pools, ice skating rings, and comedy play are still there. The location is also the place where the replica of Satsuki and Mei's house from Totoro was established, where the picture you can see as the header of the article.
