How To Enter The New Year

New Year is always a blessing because it marks new beginning and another year to try something new. In this about to be concluded year, we have so many aspirations and dreams. Many people cannot positively say they were able to achieve those things. We can say it is not their fault or blame them since it is their aspirations and dreams.

However, we need not to forget also that man proposes and God disposes. The important thing is to have those aspirations and dreams. The difference between those with unfulfilled dreams and aspirations and those without dreams and aspirations is that those with dreams and aspirations are a step ahead of those without.

They were unable to fulfill those dreams because they didn’t try or they tried but their ‘try’ was not enough. The latter is most probable because to have dreams at all is to have an idea of how to achieve them. They failed not because they didn’t try but because they tried! Failure means trying and it is a good thing to try. Even if you keep failing, just keep trying because those who tried eventually succeed.

Now that we are about to enter another year, what have you learnt from your past failures? You set out goals but could not achieve them. You had dreams but could not fulfill them. You had many aspirations but none or few came to pass. Now, have you analysed those things that served as hindrances to your dreams and aspirations? If you did, what are your plans to make sure the same thing did not repeat itself? 

Do not forget that once you identify a problem, it ceases being a problem. This is because the problem has been identified to be a problem and solution becomes the next thing.

As we are entering into the New Year, do not set goals that you know or think you cannot fulfill. The first thing is to believe in yourself, then your dreams and your capability to fulfill these dreams. Set out achievable goals whether big or very big. Make sure you have plans on how to achieve them.

Like I said above, we do not know what tomorrow holds so we might not know the things that will hinder these goals but in whatever you do, always consider these possibilities. Being pessimistic is a bad thing but when you are making plans, you need pessimism to be optimistic. That is, you need to consider things that could hinder the success of your plans and at the same time map out solutions on how to tackle these problems.

Be positive but do not think positive all through because you probably think positive all through while making previous plans and that was why you were unable achieve them. We need to always understand that life is not always rosy and we cannot adequately foresee future occurrences so the best thing is to prepare for them.

Always remember that you are your own success and failure. Always make sure your success plans would outweigh their challenges.
