This painting is a mixture of oil paint and color pencils for the portrait. The person I used as a reference for the portrait is Terrence McKenna. If you are not familiar with who he is I would highly suggest you do some research on his work!
Anyway I created this painting to show the connection between man and nature and how we are so intricately connected.

The center piece is a brain and flowing out from the brain are the three primary colors. I also painted the halves of an orange and a grapefruit as well as some pecans because they all have similarities to the two halves of the brain. As well as lungs, kidneys etc.
In the center of the brain where the pineal gland belongs I painted a black hole as well as off to the left side I also placed a black hole. This is to represent the infinite consciousness within the human being and nature itself.
I believe each fruit corresponds to an area of our body. A type of information made of sunlight and water. I also believe that the color of the fruit also corresponds to different areas in our bodies energetically. Just how the chakras in the body are represented by the color spectrum. Its as if the sun via these plants and fruits, seperates its light into these different colors so they can each be assimilated by the body uniquely. I hope im making sense, its a bit difficult to explain through text.

I find the connection between everything in nature to be absolutely amazing. Life is such a mystery yet it has an incredible self intellingence. When it comes to art my best teacher has been nature. Every day it continues to show me different techniques. Different patterns to incorporate into my creations.

One love to everyone reading this, have a wonderful moment wherever you may be.

I should probably find a way to listen to every word Terrence McKenna has ever said!

Great art there, I like the effect on the portrait, and whatever it was that you did with the pencils there, it looks awesome.

Yes he was a wise being! And thank you!

Damn what a discovery thanks to our man @nonameslefttouse !
And to be finding out you are into McKenna and psychedelia - i don't know exactly to which extent - it's even more of a surprise given that i wield a huge respect and yearning for the intricacies of our psyche and the ever so noble art of psychonautic.

Needless to say, follow both here and on instagram. Looking forward to see more of your content (no pressure though!). In the meawhile i'll storm you with likes in the other platform 😅
