Red-Bellied Woodpecker: Good to the Last Nut (Original Photo)
Every Friday I fill up the bird feeder with seed and nuts. This way I do not disturb the birds during my bird counts on Saturday and Sunday.
For several days I photographed a Red-Bellied Woodpecker as it chose a nut from the dwindling amount of nuts in the feeder. The photos will give you an idea of how fast the 5 pounds of nuts is consumed in each feeder (total of 10 pounds of nuts).

It is getting hard to see the nuts, but the Red-Bellied Woodpecker got one. This picture was taken on Friday morning before I refilled the feeders with another 10 pounds of nuts.

Seriously @etcmike ! You're seriously the kindest Steemian I've met. It's because of you, I'm going to build a bird feeder and will eventually enjoy taking Picture of Birds found around my area. They aren't as nice as you got them over there but I've got a couple of exotic birds in Penang. You're going to love APPICS, because these photos that you take, are amazing and also really educational. Heads up, I love animals so it makes sense to capture Nature through a Camera lens and post on Social Media for the world to see.

This guys really has a point here! @etcmike this is eye-opening. We all should have Bird feeders in strategic position near our house to witness first hand. I'm sure there are exotic Birds all over around the world, just waiting for that perfect Photo shot
that a very kind gesture to feed these birds. it may seem a small thing to many but you are literally feed so many lives which is the best thing i guess. woodpecker is also new to me never saw them at my side.
