Good dey to all my good people of @steemskillshare and my fashion students, today am here again to share with my students on how to cut and sew this beautiful flare short gown let get started.

Measurement

This is the material

I folded the material in a triangle shape

I mark the length of the dress, the length of the dress is 40 so I mark 40 inchies, then I mark the waist measurement, the waist measurement is 34 so I mark 34 inches then add 4 inches allowance for the zip after that I cut it out

The next thing is to cut the upper side, I folded the material into two then. Mark the bust point, under bust, half length and shoulder. Then I took the bust measurement at were I mark bust point, then I took the under bust waist measurement at were I mark under bust then I took the half length waist Measurement at were I marked half length then after that I connect it together and then cut it out

the back

I folded the material into two then mark the bust point, under bust, half length. Then I took the bust measurement at were I marked bust point, then I took the under bust waist measurement at were I mark under bust, then I took the half length waist measurement at were I mark half length then I connect it together and cut it out then I put 2 inches allowance for zip

the cape

This is the material for the cape

I folded the material into two then fold it again into two which makes it 4 then I mark her all round shoulder then I divide it into four, her all round shoulder is 43 so I divid the 43 by 4 inchies which gave me 10 and half inches , so I marked the 10 and half all round the material then I mark the length of the cape 6 inchies plus sewing allowance and zip allowance

Then I cut it out with the line I draw

the sewing begins

I join the middle front together then join the back together, then I places the front and the back together and shape it in her measurement

Then I join the flare as you see in the picture below

The next thing is to join the cape, I use a straight linning and neated the cape after that I sew it in the dress then I put the zip in the back, this is the finished result
