Monochrome world

in #photography8 years ago

In this time of year Finland is mostly grey. All shades of grey. Btw, there is a lot more shades than 50 you know. I'm sick of it. My soul needs light, and warmth. Where is my spring?! It's hard to feel nothing but desperation, especially when your bf is lying around under Thailand sun. Greetings from cold and dark, I hope you catch a malaria <3 (JK!)

I like winter, but there is limit with all this. I'm done. Thank god there still is something to wait for tho! We (as in me and that lady under Thailand sun) booked trip to Hungary, Budapest. 1 Month left to that trip, but oh boy, i'm waiting to go somewhere. Anywhere.
Until all this monochrome romance ends, you have to put up with my all grey photos, and all grey mind.

And for all photographer (for noobs and not so noobs) have you any recommendation about cameras? The time that i have to return my stolen/borrowed item is coming up, and i have to decide what kind of goodie i'm getting for my self. If anybody asks, i'm going to reward my self from finishing my thesis and UAS. Any counterargument?

Sort:

For what it's worth, I think you've made snow and frozen trees as pretty as they can be.

It's always good to reward yourself. No arguments here. I don't know the first thing about photography, but @geekpowered did a comparison post of some different cameras a while ago. Maybe it'd be of help?

I prefer pics of snow, photo can’t freeze you til death! Hey, thanks. Have to check that one out:)

Hmm I like snowy landscapes. Maybe - considering the weather throughout the year - you should think about getting a monochrome camera? :)

What are you looking for? Travel camera, sports, small/light or bulky?

I know there is no such thing as "good to all situations" but i've been thinking canon eos 800d. Seems like fairy good choice for noob, but there is still room for progressing.

it's certainly a very good choice to start with :) I would recommend comparing it with the 200D (maybe try them both in a shop). On the "spec sheet" the 800D has some advantages - e.g. more AF sensors- the 200D is a more compact though (if that is important).

thanks for the tips :) have to check them out.

I really love the bottom photo!
Not only because I like forests a lot, I like the colors and vibe!

Can't help you with picking a camera, though. I don't have one myself neither am I smart when it comes to specs.

I liked that thick spruce forest. There was kinda mysterious vibe there. Funny part is that there was no need to edit that picture to b/w, it already was. All that beard moss makes it even more mysterious. (and it also tells that air is pure there! )

In Lithuania dream of spring should begin soon . But it looks like we already have more sun. I could send you a bit more of sunshine if you would agree to share some of your chocolate reserves with me. Deal? 😉

Damn, then it’s not sun shine for me:( i have no such thing as chocolate reserves...

Normally that would be a deal breaker. But I am in a good mood so you can also convince me by making a dinner for us.

Still malaria free, also no dengue fever! And you need me because I have the hotel reservation for Budapest! 😈😈

And i have tickets for our flight... 😏

Well well well, it seems that we need each other!

As always. Miss ya bitch. Better come back with goods!
