Facebook + Decentralization = STEEM / HUGE NEWS !
"Give power to the people" - According to Mark Zuckerberg in a post on Facebook, these have always been the first four words in Facebook's mission. Of course we can argue for the validity of this statement, but the important thing is that the founder of Facebook is giving a "decentralized" Facebook a thought.
THIS IS HUGE!
I really believe this is HUGE! I feel that this is underestimated, but let's take a look at the facts.
Facts
- Facebook is one of the major players in the corporate world and it seems like Zuckerberg had enough of criticism about selling information to the government.
- Facebook Market Cap - 540 B
- Facebook Active Users - over 2 B
- If Facebook want's to decentralization - one of the viable options at this moment ( the best option IMO) is to use the Steem Blockchain and SMT's (Smart Media Tokens)
- Steem Blockchain is proven to be the most reliable and used blockchain. It has the capacity of the Bitcoin + Etherium Blockhains AND MORE - simultaneously. And this is without even breaking a sweat

Conclusion
The mere fact that key public figures, at the highest corporate levels are starting to openly suggest that Decentralization and Blockchain are needed, so the people can regain some of the control is beautiful. More and more people will realize that blockchain is the future and it is far more superior to everything we are witnessing nowadays.
We can be sure that more and more corporations will start re-thinking their strategy and searching for a better solution. I think that this statement has the power to make 2018 the greatest year ever for blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
This feels exciting; it's just like the mid to late nineties and talking about the possibilities of the internet economy. That's great that Zuckerberg has an interest incorporating an smt into Facebook. Has Google mention any along these lines for Youtube?
I haven't heard of something like this. But we already have a better youtube on the Steem blockchain, it's called d.tube You should definitely check it out.
I have view a few videos on Dtube, but I have a lot compatibility issues with the platform. I have to do some research into it. Thanks for posting. It keeps super excited about the steem platform; my friends and family don't understand my enthusiasm.
Wow. I read the Zuckerberg post. It certainly sounds excellent. I also think you are right in that the Steem blockchain is the most appropriate currently in use. I suspect he would probably build another, but I guess we can only hope.

if this is really huge, facebook like it or not is one of the largest that is almost on par with youtube with google in the lead and always in first position, but if facebook would take the step surely all others would end up giving it.
