Monochrome Monday: Matkov kot

Matkov kot, or Matk's corner, is of the four roughly parallel alpine valleys in the north-central part of Slovenia bordering on Austria. They are like four fingers.

This meadow lies in the middle of Matkov kot.

The contrast between the shadow cast by the hills to the west and sun lit mountains behind it is as the rocks were merged with the sky.

Three of them, Roban, Logar and Matk are in Slovenia with later the least visited and known. Fourth, Bela, is in Austria and not frequented at all. Almost a wilderness ...
