Hello Steemians!
Good morning my people, am here again. Today I wish to share with us the ten basic biblical truths that will help guide our lives.
TEN BASIC TRUTHS
- We all came into this world with nothing, and we shall leave it with nothing no matter how rich we are. Our citizenship is in heaven (Phil. 3:20)
- It is better to be poor and be morally clean, than to be rich and be morally filthy.
- Those who sell their moral integrity in exchange for money are not wise (e.g. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob his brother and he paid dearly for it).
- If the devil offers you money and you follow him, you are shortsighted, shallow-minded and foolish because money is not everything in life. “The love of money is the root of all evil:” (1Tim 6:10).
- If morality offers you money and you follow it by plunging yourself unto fraudulence, stealing, embezzlement, bribery etc. you are also shortsighted, shallow minded and foolish. Because sooner or later you will pay for it and reap what you have sown. i.e. law of natural justice. “Whatever you sow, you shall reap” (Gal 6:7). Everything whether good or bad we do in life has reward if you sow good you shall reap good or vice visa.
- The moral law is the law of nature; nobody can cheat nature and get away with it.
- Money is not everything it can only buy pleasures and it cannot buy happiness, you can only get happiness from Jesus Christ the head of the church.
- You cannot be moral through religion but you can be exposed to religious moral rules. It is not only power nor by might but by the power of the Holy Ghost”. Nigerians are very religious people. But at the same time Nigeria is one of the most corrupt nations in the world. Those who corruptly enriched themselves through immoral means are generally Christians and Muslims who throw their faith into the wind for money. Christian ethics demands for moral responsibility of nations to God. Anytime the Israelites went against the rules and regulations, God punished them by handling them over to the Amorites, Canaanite, Jebusite etc.
- Morality is the health of society “Righteousness exalts a nation.”
- Any religion without commitment to moral way of life is an abomination (Mat. 15-8). That shows that, religion and morality are inseparable. You cannot claim spiritually without morality; because “the eyes of God cannot behold sin:. Prayer of sinners will be detestable before God (Ps. 15).
