The Vital 10,000 Steps
Your health is your most important asset. All the wealth in the world cannot buy your health…. This was most poignantly described by Steve Jobs, the former boss of APPLE, just before he passed away.
It was often prescribed by doctors that a daily walk of 10,000 steps is your guarantee to 20,000-day stay in this world (barring unforeseen circumstances), therefore attaining the age of 55 years.
The next target is 30,000-day living on attaining the age of 82 years which requires that we fully engage ourselves in many aspects of life, as a Third Ager or re-living as a single (Second Youth / Second Life). This would be our Mini Retirement Experiment, because 55-year is certainly too young to “retire” but right time to “re-tire (re-tyre)” so that we could go on a new track that emphasizes ROL (Returns on Life) rather on ROI (Returns on Investment).
The next target is 40,000-day on Earth, attain the ripe age of 110-year (congratulations! Centennial not Millennial!). This would certainly have a holistic lifestyle that gives full meaning to the term, including the spiritual aspects.
The 40,000-day stay on this Earth is said to be programmed into our DNA. The human natural life-span is said to be 120-year. It is our entitlement. The remaining question is what is the Legacy that each and every one of us that we will leave behind on this Earth?
