We Should Stand For The Flag and Kneel For The Cross

Our National Anthem and our American flag is not something that should be used in any sort of protest. These things represent the very freedoms that allow you the right to protest the things that you disagree with. Because as the saying goes, Freedom is never free. The flag is intended to be respected in order to show your respect to the thousands of military men and women who have sacrificed more in a single day than most have in their entire life.

I was raised to respect the flag and along with that any of the patriotic symbols, songs or gestures that go along with it. Protesting is great, you have the right to do that, but find another way than disrespecting the greatest symbol of freedom on this Earth.

Obviously, not everyone is of the same, or even of any, religion. The cross doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. I kneel for the cross. I may also, at the appropriate times, kneel out of respect for people I admire.

Would these same people feel we had the right to stomp on the Koran?

So blindly give allegence to a piec of cloth that politicians use as a tool to silence the majority. Sorry man but the flag doesn't hold the values it once did if it ever really did. If the US wasn't so interventionist,starting wars and whatnot, and wasn't for creating poverty through central banking maybe more people would feel the same way you do. Until government is held accountable for the last 100 years I highly doubt people start worshiping a piece of cloth
