My Experience of Adventure and Traveling to Natural Scenic Spots - Steemit Engagement Season 4 | Velká Amerika and Lom Malá Amerika

I am happy to participate in the Share Your Experience of Adventure and Traveling to Natural Scenic Spots of Engagement Challenge organized by the Steemit Travel community. Thanks to this community for the nice idea. This topic is very interesting to me as I love to travel 🤗

I will tell you about two points in Mořina village, Czech Republic. These are Quarry Great America (Velká Amerika) and Quarry Little America (Lom Malá Amerika). So let's start 🎉

Velká Amerika (Quarry Great America)

Velká Amerika's Location

I went by train to Velká America, which is about 15 km from Prague. The nearest station to this area is in Karlštejn. Karlštejn also has a charming castle. So I first visited this castle with my friends and then continued my journey as I showed on the map. We walked about 4 km from the 1st place that I showed on the map to the 2nd. During this walk, we took a lunch break in Mořina. If you come to Morina by bus from the castle, you will not be too tired.

In this adventure that lasted from morning to night, we visited Karlštejn Castle, Velká America, Lom Malá America, and came back to the train station in Karlštejn, which is the starting point.

Location of the area

It is not without adventure when you walk such a long road 😅 So the only crazy moment was not our long walk but getting lost in the area I showed it. Yes, we were literally lost in the jungle 😄 I'm laughing now, but at that moment I was very nervous. I will address this issue a little later.

Velká America is an abandoned limestone quarry. The inside of this quarry was filled with some water and this wonderful image was formed. Its length is almost 1km. Its width is 200m. It is a well-known fact that political prisoners are employed in this mine.

Mining activities stopped in 1963. There are also many caves here, and travelers who wanted to explore the caves at that time visited this place. When the water started to accumulate in the quarry, nudists showed interest in this area. But police have removed them from this area. Afterwards, it was opened to tourism with the construction of walking paths. So I can say that the past is full of adventure 👀

I can say that it is quite a popular tourist destination in Czechia. There are several safe spots to see this magnificent view. You can watch it from many places around the lake. Also, the sound resonates wonderfully. We were startled when we heard someone screaming. Then this situation turned into a game and communication 😄

The depth of the lake is 18 meters. Entrance to the lake is not allowed, but divers can enter with special permission. I guess these rules are enforced for security reasons. Also, these magnificent cliffs make a great backdrop for filming. Therefore, it is a preferred region for producers. Both its cliff and lake create a magnificent ambiance. If you go to Czechia, I definitely recommend you to visit this region 👌

Lom Malá Amerika (Quarry Little America)

Lom Malá Amerika' Location

Let's come to the 3rd point on the map, namely Lom Malá Amerika. On a beautiful sunny day, we came to another wonderful cliff in the shade of the trees. There were many uphill and downhill spots along the way. I can say that it is not a dangerous road.

It's a fascinating cliff, and of course I've gone all the way to the edge. In order to feel and enjoy this place, we sat on the rocks for a while and watched it and listened to the sounds. That's what I call peace 💚

The lake is very clear and crayfish lived in it. It looks like a mirror when viewed from above. It is very impressive like as an eye. A habitat has formed here; trees, animals, plants etc. Birds' voices were echoing. Since it is far from the settlement, it has a very clean air 🍃

I saw wonderful nature views both on the way here and on the way to the starting point. All shades of green, yellow and brown colors of autumn were always with us. For this reason, as you can see in the photo, we often took a break to take photos 🌾

We were getting tired, but it was a very enjoyable journey. Because the magnificent views, nature and conversation were wonderful. We were walking with a break. Our road was generally straight, but when we came to the path in the forest, we met with a bumpy road.

By the way, we had dinner at U Adama Restaurace. So we ate before came to Velka America. The meal was fish and mashed potatoes. I also had vegatable soup, but unfortunately there is no photo of it. And I ordered this apple dessert. Meals cost around 250 CZK (45 STEEM)

The food was delicious but the waiter was a bit rude🙄 He did not pay attention to us. We didn't want to bother ourselves with this situation, so we didn't think about it. By the way, the restaurant was one of the best restaurants in Morina and its location and environment were beautiful. You can check out information about it on Tripadvisor.

There are direction signs and yellow lines on the trees along the road. We were both following them and looking at the maps on our phones. It started to get dark and we were still walking. The batteries of the phones were low, so we lost both our light and our navigation 😐

And so we got lost. At that moment, laughter was replaced by fear and anxiety. We were tired and lost our course. Also, animal sounds scared us 😱 We tried to find the signs in the trees without getting far from each other and luckily we found our way with good teamwork 👍

The train departs from Hlavni Nadrazi in Prague and goes there again. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. It is a good idea to check the schedule before going on the train. The train ticket from Prague to Karlštejn was 108 CZK (20 STEEM) round trip. This is the price from 2 years ago. We had to wait a while for the train, and I got a low-sugar coffee. I was so tired and my legs were numb.

Overall it was a very nice trip. This trip cost around 200 Steem. Walking too much and getting lost was also an exciting experience and removed the mediocrity of the trip 😄 I will end my article about this beautiful day' post with this unique panoramic photo 😍👌

I would love to visit these wonderful beauties and walk in the forest again one day. If you come to this region, I definitely recommend you to visit the two mines that I have mentioned 😊
