I had been seated in the evening thinking of a simple but satisfying meal when that smell of grilled meat hit me and I smelled sweet fragrance in there. The lightly grilled shawarma was placed in front of me in a brilliant foil wrap and it had a golden brown tortilla that sported appetizing looking grill marks. On peeking inside I saw a plentiful filling of what seemed like luscious chicken, crunchy vegetables, and a juicy red sausage sticking out and guaranteeing some explosion of taste as it came out.
There was a carton of Hollandia Sweetened Yoghurt Drink beside my savory delight that had cool blue and white packaging which cooled my shawarma with its warm contents. This combination is unbelievably homely, the strong and salty spices of the shawarma along with the creamy sweet, slightly sour taste of that yoghurt beverage; just perfect together.
When I took a bite of the shawarma, the soft meat, the crispy cabbage and that special tang of the sausage created a tasting pleasurable palate of textures and flavor. Every bite was a reminder of just how good life can be, an entrancing meal that I could have in the secluded safe confines of my environment. That was followed by a draught of the Hollandia yoghurt drink whose freshness was balance and palate cleansing and refreshing in preparation of the next unctuous mouthful.
This was not even food, it was a time of absolute pleasure, a small treat that I treated myself to at the end of the day. and the delight of tasting those tastes as they lingered on my tongue, the exhilaration of having nothing whatever to do just then, except enjoy to the utmost--what a supper it was. It is, at other times, a person can have some of the most memorable things with the simplest of things, so me having a good and tasty shawarma and a refreshing beverage in honor of no one.
