Hello dear community, today I want to show you the beautiful Tua Tua plant that I have planted in my garden and I will talk to you about its beneficial properties for health. It is a wild herbaceous plant native to Latin America. This species can grow between 1 and 2 m tall and has a green stem with the presence of yellowish latex in the sap. This plant is widely used for medicinal purposes.

The tua tua is very popular for its varied medicinal properties that includes antispasmodic, antidiabetic, antiasthmatic, diuretic, among others. All parts of the plant are used for different purposes. The seeds and fruits are used to induce vomiting, while the leaves have anti-inflammatory properties. On the other hand, the stem and its latex are used as healing agents and antibiotics.

This plant contains a natural antibiotic in its leaves and stems that is used to treat various conditions. The infusion of the plant is used on external sores, skin ulcers, oral and eye infections, herpes and burns. Also, it can treat urinary tract infections like cystitis and prostatitis.

The latex that exudes the stem of this plant is used to prepare infusions that are used as healing and tissue restorer. This is a popular treatment to combat burns and other conditions of the body's mucous membranes. The South American natives (guajiros), use this infusion of latex to carry out eye washes, functioning as a kind of eye drop, which has given it the name of "colirio de los Wayúu".
