Where do you put God.

Many marriages are heading to the rock today and some are already gone over the cliff.

In fighting for our marriage, we consult marriage counsellor ( not bad but ), we seek people advice and opinion, we try to copy others, buy books, listen in talkshow and get occultic means involved ( very bad because the devil never give without taking out something powerful and of far greater value, adding more and greater problems ).

With all this measure, more marriage still end up falling over the cliff. Most of the lucky ones that do not end up over the cliff, live shakily.

When ask, they will narrate how just unlucky they are, all the steps taken so on and so forth blah blah blah but no mention of God the designer and maker of marriage.

So where did they put God and where do you place God in your marriage.

Growing up in my teenage years, I was worried about the space of alarming number of marriage divorce, separation between two married couple and the marriage that are only marriage in name. Unfortunately things are now worse than it was then.

The teenage me was so trouble then by the issues and PM NEWS was not helping matter with her daily evening reporting of marriage break-ups and squabbles. I fear for the future, fear of getting married became a battle in my life because of divorce palaver.

I began listening to and sometime eavesdropping on people conversations; researching, reading and studying books, articles on marriage, relationship and sex but no bible but i always pray that I don't want to get married and divorce.

In my journey, I learnt many things, many don't and do's, many tricks, many top ten or twenty and here on nairaland they abound. Reading them at times I smile and laugh at people comments.

So far so good, have come to realised that reading and implementing all those, tricks, tips, advice, top ten and twenty to solve marital distress and improve relationship will not do. We must first look inward into ourself first and start from there.

The thing is, you can't give what you don't have and you only reap what you sow. We must first forgive ourself then our partner before we can start anything implementable as long as they are in accordance to God words.

Also find out that some marital issue goes beyond top ten or twenty. Tell me; is there a top ten or twenty, tricks or ways to address an issue like this in a marriage where for no just cause one of the partner will find it difficult to stay in the same room with their significant second, just they find them repulsive, unexplained hatred.

That's where God come in, he said in Ps.50:15 And call on me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. – Ps.50:15.

Praying to God for His intervention will wipe away tears, replace worries and sadness with peace of mind and joy.

Now why do you need God?

You need God because with Him you are established, in the sense that He will plant your feet and uphold you firmly when you commit your marriage to Him

Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3

Committing your marriage to God, mean you allowing God to take the center stage and you the back stage. It mean allowing God plan for your marriage to stand instead of yours. Total surrender of your marriage to God.

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9

Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. Proverbs 16:20

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

A man’s steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way? Proverbs 20:24
