BLOGGING: My Entrepreneurial Passion

In previous posts I have mentioned that whatever you do on your entrepreneurial journey, do it with passion. Passion makes everything so much easier to do, passion makes you get up and get going in the morning and passion will ensure your eventual success.

My passion is the drive to educate and involve others in the quest to be successful, to help others find the path in their life that they desire and to provide tips and advice to help them along that path.

With the advent of blogging I have found a way that I can share my passion with the entire world should they wish to read and follow my blog. I truly love the time that I spend researching content and putting posts together an then posting them on my blog. If I had the time to do 20 posts in a day that is what I would do. Unfortunately I don’t have that sort of time or there would be so many more posts up on this site.

When I first started blogging it was a bit of a hit and miss affair, I was never sure of what too write or how to get people to come to the blog let alone read what was on there and come back to read again. This was of course immensely frustrating as I have so much to say (maybe too much to say sometimes). So I took a couple of online blogging courses just to get me some idea of what I needed to do to get things up and running. Some of the things that I have learned are:

1) Make sure that you are posting on a regular basis, don’t just forget the blog and then come back weeks later, any traffic that you have had will be long gone,

2) A hosted blog is best, with some blogging platforms you can be shut down for no apparent reason, if you have spent months getting a blog up and running and then get shut down as I have heard happens that would be devastating, by having a hosted blog you own the website, it is yours to do with as you please,

                

3) Blogs are a fantastic tool for entrepreneurs, they get your message out there and are easy to run and maintain,

4) Book mark all of your posts to social networking sites,

5) Make sure your blog is optimised for SEO,

6) Ping frequently,

7) Use Digg and Technorati.

I still have a lot to learn but I am getting there, this blog is my own little piece of online real estate and I am immensely proud of it.
