Hello SteemFood pips! Last episode, we cooked some Sauteed Bitter-Gourd with Egg. How does it taste? Did you try it at home? I hope I shared another good dish. Now, let's try something new. Our recipe for today is called Spicy Tuna Sisig. Sisig is a Filipino dish that is made from small parts of pig head and chicken liver. It is usually seasoned with onions, calamansi, and chili peppers. That is the usual Sisig, but today, we will have a different twist. We will use Tuna as the main ingredient. Let's do this!

Ingredients

  • 2 can 180g Century Tuna flakes in oil hot and spicy flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 big size white onion minced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 pieces egg
  • 3 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 3 small packs of pork chicharon
  • 4 pieces green chilli
  • 4 pieces calamansi
  • 5 cloves garlic minced

Kitchen Wares to be use

  • Frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Strainer
  • Knife
  • Chopping board
  • Spoon
  • Bowl

Step by Step Process

First Step

Remove the century tuna broth using a strainer then set aside the tuna. We will not use the broth.

Second Step

In a clean bowl, let's mix the mayonnaise, oyster sauce, soy sauce, calamansi juice (squeeze it to release the juice and remove the seeds by using strainer), and sugar. Set aside afterwards.

Third Step

Put the frying pan in the stove with medium heat only then add the oil and fry the garlic and onions. Add the tuna afterwards. Make sure to mix it well upon adding the fine pepper and the green chilli.

Fourth Step

Lower the heat of the stove then add the mixed sauces. We do not want it to be overcooked. Continue mixing then add the eggs. Mix it for 2 minutes then turn off the stove.

Fifth Step

Lastly, transfer it to the serving plate. Put some onions and crunchy pork chicharon on top.

Before we end this episode, I would like to give some tips on how to serve Sisig. It is a very common food here in the Philippines and it is best to be served on sizzling plates to retain the heat. It's really good to eat while it's hot. Unfortunately, we don't have a sizzling plate here. I'm planning on buying one so maybe next time I'll try to show you what I mean. And one more thing, you can also try topping it with a sunny side up egg. And that's it. Thanks for the support! :)

It's done. Happy Eating! 😊
