#thoughtfuldailypost 🤔
No Pictures
I figure without the graphics, maybe it'll be given more thought. Have to thank @wesphilbin for helping to spread some positive vibes across the chain. Good cat by the way. He drops in and visits the pimps with @shadowspub on Thursdays in the Ramble from time to time. Believe he's fairly active in #steemusa with @tattoodjay as well.
The Thought
Acceptance. I find myself often in situations where I'm just tolerating something or someone instead of accepting that it is what it is or they are who they are. It's a fine line between the two, and hard to recognize sometimes, but once you do, it relieves quite a bit of stress.
What's The Difference?
Tolerance is more a 'putting up with' attitude. Typically, the stress won't subside until the situation passes. How long you can stand something before tapping out. Accepting a person or instance, is realizing that it or they won't change until it's time.
Acceptance
Being a parent, I have a tolerance level where some things, I can only deal with so much of, like whining. Ugh. Enough already. LOL! But, it has given me the 'patience of a saint' which directly impacts the easier transition periods I have acquired for accepting things. Like my son.
Bippity Boppity
Used to call him 'Boo-Boo' as a lilun' because he'd often get owies. Not that he was trying to avoid them. 😆 As a now young adult, he has some owies since he went off to live with his mother for 3 years. She was not as encouraging I suppose, as he dropped out of school, started partying and getting in with 'the wrong crowd'. Nothing wrong with having a good time, but priorities are just that. Now his owies are 'wish I would've finished school' and stayed here.
Was Tough
But I've learned to accept him for who he is and urge him in a positive direction versus tolerating his failures because I was seriously pissed off when I heard he quit high school. 🤐 Life is shitty sometimes. The question is, will you tolerate it and let it pass as all things do, or accept the things you cannot change and work to better the things you can?

@enginewitty,
This is a wonderful addition to the #thoughtfuldailypost initiative my friend. Sometimes, it's not about the pictures, but the thought behind what you are trying to convey... I get this man... my son lived with my ex most of his life... he lives with my other-half and I now, but... I get it.
This should be in a book somewhere my friend. Being a Moderator for the @steemterminal has let me see just HOW MANY people, Steemians, parents... what ever you want to call us... members. Human-beings... sometimes, we need to know we aren't alone... that there are other's experiencing the same things. Be thoughtful for that... spread the positive energy that it's okay to get frustrated, upset, but focus on what matters. Like you said...
Acceptance...
Agree to disagree, and put those big boy panties on, and carry on...aye? I love this brother... thank you for joining in with my #thoughtfuldailypost...
Wes
Thanks my man, took a while to come to grips and know the difference. Focusing on what matters makes all the difference 😎

I think this was a beautiful way to do The #thoughtfuldailypost and it doesn't have to be all pictures like in mine.
I love your choice of words here acceptance and tolerance.
And its so true what you saying and I guess we all can relate to this.
Amazing job you do with your son, and giving him a fresh start...after everything that happened, you except him just the way he is and I belive that is changing his life for the better.
Sometimes life leave us in situations we can not Control or change... Love The phrase work to better the things you can?
I belive in that 💖
Well written... I heard every Word! 🌹
Thanks for reading sweets, I imagine it can pertain to many areas of life and not just parenting like I said. 🤗🤗😘

What a great thoughful post, and I think your spot on getting upset to doesnt achieved anything, We have to be understanding and supportive as parents is about all we can do
Think that's a secret qualification everyone has to have to be a parent😁

Tolerance and acceptance go hand in hand. We may not always be able to make the leap from tolerance to acceptance, but it’s a great goal. And tolerance is a huge leap over intolerance! Great article, @enginewitty!
Intolerance, don't even get me started on that😅

My mantra for this week?
Be.
With.
What.
Is.
The more you repeat it the more it makes sense. Acceptance makes for a more peaceful life!

So true, difficult, but true!

No need for photos when the message is beautiful and direct to the heart. Having your acceptance of his choices and encouragement to change what he can is exactly what he needs for a happier life. No child wants their parent to look at them only see disappointment or to give up on them, especially when they're likely beating themselves up inside.
That you went for him, that you stand by him, and that you're doing all you can for him to have a good life and positive perspective is the mark of a true loving father. And I believe that even if he doesn't say so, deep down he thinks the world of you for it. 💗
Was quite the trip and thanks for having me again🤗

A thoughtful post which was just that....thoughtful! Parenting is a rough gig. I have said it before and I will say it again. Take me back to the days when sippy cups and missed naps where the "big issues and concerns".
Life is tough sometimes, I think we just have to accept what is and work towards the best outcome.
I wish your son all the very best in his new adventures in life. I'm sure everything will pan out with the love and support he has from you.
Here's to hoping! 🍻

This is close to home for me. The hardest part of being a parent is to accept the decisions made by our kids when we know they suck. I work everyday on accepting, and that is no lie. Hardest thing ever..
How many kids you have?

@coininstant, look I know you going through some 'things', but down voting out of spite is just pitiful. I know why you did it. Which is why you didn't leave a comment. It's a petty vote, so we're not complaining, but you need to re-examine exactly what you're doing here on the platform before you piss off too many of the wrong people. What exactly did you just accomplish? Do you prefer to be disliked vs. liked? Maybe if you started upvoting, commenting in sincerity, putting out some decent posts people want to engage with and just start being a better steempeep, you would be surprised how much better of an experience you would have here.
Sounds like you are complaining to me, and calling me petty, you sound kinda rude to me! Look I know exactly what I’m doing, who are you defending, bernie, marky, or swelker? Now you got my attention and will get more petty downvotes! Thanks 🙏!
