What other non-blockchain social media do you use?

It would be unrealistic to assume everyone on Steem does not use other social media. No matter your stance, there are certain appeals to use existing mainstream options. After all, part of marketing involves being part of the noisy sea of communications.

I am not looking for reasons on why anyone still uses Facebook, etc. That would be a post all by itself. In fact, there are legitimate reasons to use them for informational purposes.

Sometimes, the rewards may not be enough incentive to bring people into Steem's space. Especially, when the ecosystem feels incomplete and lack the vision of future directions. I am sure some of that will change with time and dedication from the community.

Keeping that in mind, what are some of the other social media in which you are active? I am looking for non-blockchain based platforms.

The poll will be open for 30 days and you may choose as many choices as you desire.

Just to follow certain people...

I do that too. I find it most useful to keep up with politicians who can have significant impact on your life.

I almost forgot what a "non-blockchain social media" was. 😁jk

In addition to the ones you already mentioned, I like to use Periscope, Bandcamp, Wordpress, and YouTube. Wait, "like" is the wrong word. I should replace "like" with "tolerate." I tolerate many of the "non-blockchain social media." As a freelance musician/person I find it to be my responsibility to spread myself thin on all of them. If I had lots of the munnies, I would lean on the Facebook because of it's advertising potential.

Lol, you put "MySpace." What country still uses that?
You are soooooooooooooooooooo old school! 😬See you on AOL!

Haha there are so many platforms, it's hard to keep track of them all.

Twitter is the best way for me to share Steem's potential.

Makes sense. But, there are so much noise on that platform.

True, but I've created change by complaining and even threatening to complain on Twitter.
Propel, an E85 gas company met my demands once. I asked them why a gas was discouraged from accepting cash for E85... two different gas stations actually. Next thing I know, the gas stations started accepting cash for E85 again. (Now I hate that fuel, don't use it.)
I've also complained about all the broken massage chairs at a mall and they got fixed.
My stove was showing an error code while beeping loudly, I complained about it on Twitter, and a service tech told me how to fix it.
Delta airlines, they offered me a voucher after seeing my complaint on Twitter too.
It's the best soapbox consumers have if you're a good hashtag whore. "Boycottpower" was a good hash tag on Twitter. It's been a while though.

I guess it does work sometimes.

Yeah, you gotta be noisy.

Facebook - not really by choice, my family use messenger, and you are forced to have a Facebook account active to use messenger, even if you deactivate it, it will reactivate it, fucking annoying. Either way my profile is completely wiped.

Twitter - I have made a few Steem related tweets, and a few follows since Christmas 2018, but I don't use it at all really.

Steam - I have bought some games on it, but 99% of my games are on Xbox, so I don;t use it that much either.

So not much outside of Steem.

So, your family just wanted to use Messenger?

They all use Facebook too. Probably on it all the time.

Have you ever seen an advertisement on a television on television?

The best platforms can be youtube, an advertisement on spotify, or other systems like this, disconnected from blogging, a person who loves spending his days on facebook, I prefer not to have it on steemit!!XXD
And under the marketing point of view, it is not a big move to use similar platforms (just my opinion)

I generally ignore or skip those ads.

me tooXD i hate ads... but sometimes can be useful...
With steemstem we thoughtto bring steemit inside schools, but it is not so easy to interact with the "centralized" world... and above all to make people understand the potential of the blockchain, to those who are now older with age

I had to lookup what VK is. I had never encountered it before. And here is another social media type I frequent that I bet is unusual... BBS (Bulletin Board System) Yes they are still out there and popular with an older techie crowd.

I have never heard of that one before.

Yeah, there are so many platforms. I didn't even put down the popular ones in Asia, in particular, China.
