THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
The last astronaut James Irwin said, ‘’you might think going to the moon was the most scientific project ever but they literally ‘threw us’ in the direction of the moon. We had to adjust our course every ten minutes and landed only inside fifty feet of the 500 mile radius of our target.’’ On that mission, every change no matter how small, was essential to success.
‘’When you can’t change the direction of the wind-adjust your sails’’ (Max DePree). We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are. People hate change, yet it is the only thing that brings growth. There is nothing so permanent as change.
Everyone wants to change the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. ‘’Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instructions: but he that regards reproof shall be honored’’ (proverbs).!
Unacceptable of your presents creates a future. ‘’Better to be pruned to grow than cut up to burn,’’ said John Trapp. A bad habit never goes away by itself. ‘’It’s always an undo-it-yourself project’’ (Abigail Van Buren).
Wise people sometimes change their minds-fools never do. Be open to changes in your plans. It is a sign of strength to make changes when necessary.
The longer a person is in error, the surer they are right and the less open they are to change. Defending your faults and errors only proves that you have no intention of quitting them. An obstinate man does not hold opinions-they hold him.
Where we cannot invent we can at least improve. A ‘’sensational new idea’’ is sometimes just an old idea with its sleeves rolled up. If you itch for ideas, keep on scratching. Don’t be afraid of change.
Everybody is in favor of progress; it’s the change they don’t like. Face it, constant change is here to stay. Most people are willing to change, not because they see the light, but because they feel the heat.
Great ideas still need change, adaptation and modification in order to prosper and succeed. Henry Ford forgot to put a reverse gear in his first automobile (it would get you there, but you couldn’t get back). Few knew of his oversight. Because he changed, few don’t know of his success. Success and growth are unlikely if you always do things the way you’ve always done them. When you stop changing, you stop growing.!
