Adding 'Potential Rewards' feature to steem.rocks

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

I have just pushed a couple changes to steem.rocks where you can learn your potential author reward payouts.

transisto's potential rewards

Why?

Steemit or any other interface doesn't show that information. I had been using an external service in the past, but they've been using a browser miner which uses your CPU in that page.

Potential Author Rewards Page

This page includes a list of posts and comments and their potential payout values in steemit's $ format. (Not USD.)

  • Curation rewards are calculated with a correct rate based on the upvotes' timing on the posts. (Not a fixed %25)

  • Beneficiaries also calculated with the respective percents on the posts.

  • Author rewards means that the main author's potential payout. (total - curation - benefs)

How to Use?

http://steem.rocks/@your_username/rewards

or you can just click to *Potential Rewards" link on your profile:

Improvements and Bugs

This idea came into my mind and I have implemented with the most stupid way. Currently, It doesn't work fast. I will make it faster.

Also, didn't have any excessive tests yet about the numbers and calculation. So, please double check what you see. If you see something wrong, please inform me. You can actually open a bug-hunt contribution in Utopian by selecting steemrocks project.

Code

This new feature touched 2 open-source repositories.

reward_estimator project

steemrocks project

Since I am the owner of these 2 projects, there were no PR's merged. I pushed directly to the master.*

Very cool ! But you forgot to remove the resteemed posts from the calculation ;)

Also, an sbd/steem estimation like steemstats would be very very very interesting !

Resteem issue should be fixed with #4ce2ec49.

SBD/Steem estimation is a todo since I actually have no idea how to calculate it yet. Do you have any information about it?

Thanks.

Actually no, you would be better off asking the creator of steemstats about it, it's the only tool I know of that does the estimation.

hey @emrebeyler you mention that some external services use a browser miner :( I have been using steemd and noticed it hanging/generally slow does it have a browser miner? Also I've used steemnow. It's a bit shady to add browser miners.

steem.rocks looks cool, great to see the actual potential rewards, rather than having to try and calculate it in my head. perhaps there could be a toggle switch to see it in actual USD (at current rates)?

If I could turn back !BEER
