The moment my parents comes back from work, the first word that proceeds out of mouth is "Welcome". That has been more like a habit or even becoming part of my lifestyle. The practice of saying welcome to my parents or anyone, at the right time was instilled in me right from my days in kindergarten class. After greeting a visitor, the next thing is to say welcome.

Have you ever wondered what the word "welcome" really means? It is a powerful statement that is often used as a simple phrase, without knowing the real meaning. Does it have some deep meanings attached? Let's explore the word "welcome" in different dimensions.

What does 'welcome' mean to you and what do you use it for? Mention 3 instances

To me, 'welcome' means a word use to greet a person in a polite or friendly manner. Welcome also means creating a sense of belonging, reception and hospitality to people who come in contact with you in one way or the other. They can be your family, friends or even strangers, so the use of 'welcome' simply shows acceptance with pleasure or satisfaction.

Welcome is being used in so many instances but here are 3 instances where I use *'welcome'

  • First, I use welcome when someone visits me, especially at home.

  • Second, I make use of welcome when someone returns back from work, school or anywhere.

  • And lastly, I use welcome in return when a person thanks me for something I did for him or her. Showing a sense of acceptance.

How do you feel when this word is used for you and how do you also think the person you use it for feels about it.

First of all, how would you feel when you get a new job and the manager, gives you an assuring smile accompanied with the word 'welcome'? It makes you feel relaxed right? Yes! So warmth and acceptance is what I feel when someone says 'welcome' to me. Even If I am a guest in a new place it makes me feel genuinely appreciated and if it's in the place of a closed one, it makes me feel more loved.

As for how a person I use the word 'welcome' for, I think it is entirely the same with the way I feel when it's been used on me. It shows them that I'm happy to have them around and I also value their presence. Using welcome in settings like school, workplaces and other community spaces creates a more positive and welcoming environment for all.

Why should you use this word more often and why is it important to teach our kids to use it?

There are several reasons why we should use the word 'welcome' more often. First, it' is a simple way to show respect and kindness to others. When we create a sense of belonging and respect to elders amongst ourselves in settings like schools, workplaces and others places, it births a welcoming environment.

Sometimes when we use the word 'welcome' it shows that we're interested in making a friendly relationship with someone. So welcome can be used to build relationships and encourage connection. Also, using the word 'welcome' more often, shows how appreciative we are to someone's presence making them feel valued and important.

Welcome is a word that most times signifies greeting. So when we teach the kids to use it, it definitely shows how well mannered they are when they go outside or even within the home. Welcome and greetings in general will help to develop important social skills in kids that will help them throughout their lives. That's why I've taught my pupils in school as well as other at home and around me, how to say welcome when necessary.

As s you welcome 2024, what are your expectations and how do you intend to achieve them?

As we say "welcome" to the new year, 2024, my I'm excited to think about what I have planned ahead of now and how possible it is for me to achieve them. My expectations in this new year are to;

  • To know more about God our creator, his word and how to please him.
  • Get good grades in my first semester in the university, since I just got admission.
  • Get more financially independent.
  • And finally on Steemit, gain recognition and achieve my set goals before the end of the year.

How do I intend to achieve all this?

  1. I will create more time to go through God's word, pray and practice what I have read.
  2. To get good grades, as the secret is popularly known, I will be serious with my studies, but alongside, creating time for myself and not my academics alone.
  3. Becoming more financially independent, I will learn more digital skills and further my experience on crypto currency.
  4. On Steemit to achieve my set goals, it's simple. Consistency, engagement and posting of quality contents is the key.

Conclusion

In conclusion, "welcome" is a simple but powerful word that we often use. It can be used to express gratitude, show kindness, respect and build relationships. In this new years, I hope we all can continue to use the word 'welcome' to create a more welcoming and positive environment. "Welcome" can be a small word but has the capacity to make a difference.
