PUTTING YOUR EXCESS ENERGY TO POSITIVE USE
Some of us have excess energy. This can be a permanent thing or
temporary If not well-managed, it can lead to avoidable complications.
Sometimes, this energy is a result of extreme emotions but whatever is
the cause, you need to put it to positive and productive use. Herein are
a few ways you can do this.
1.Meditation
Meditation is one of the most effective ways to keep a hold on excess
energy and provide mental piece. Meditation ensures greater self-control
and calmness. Many types of meditation techniques are available: pranic
healing, Reki, vipassana, mindfulness, etc. Practice the one that suits you
and your best requirement. The results might not be immediately visible
but keep at it; trust in the process.
2.Social service
Get busy. Join up with or form a group that provides aid/succor to the
needy. Taking this up would cause you to direct most of your mental and
physical energy to one place thereby ensuring you are not getting into
trouble. You can take up services such as distribution of blanket among
the poor, food distribution, working in a shelter, street cleaning and a host
of other social services. Apart from the bleeding off the excess energy,
such acts make you better appreciate the plight of the poor in the society.
3.Music
This work with certain types of songs. Songs that soothe. Do not go for
songs that by very nature boost or energise you. Listening to soothing
music can work like meditation. You get to reach a place of calm in your
head. In such a state, you can easily unclutter your mind, draw up to-do
list, carry out a SWOT analysis of yourself and other things.
However, if soothing do not work, let's go hard. Pick up a fast-paced song
and dance. This will definitely leave you tired but also feel good from the
mini-workout.
4.Exercise
Exercise can work as very easy tool for tamping down excess energy and
overcoming physical and mental stress. Doing intensive exercises is
a beneficial activity. You get to keep in shape, make right lifestyle choices
(especially with food), shed off excess energy and boost your immunity.
There is a feelgood feeling after a good workout and you have just the right
amount of energy to face the day.
5.Identify your hobbies
We have hobbies. Some are productive while others are just time-wasting
activities. Thinking on and noting them down would be helpful. Doing
this lets you decide on which to pick up and invest your energy into
instead. You can also pick up a new habits like kayaking, canoeing, rock
climbing, painting, crafting, etc.
The choice is yours. Every individual have been vested with certain
inherent qualities and all that is needed is the necessity of talent.
In conclusion, if you find out that you are one who always is energized
up and about, avoid idleness. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop."
Also, have a plan. You can choose to do any of the above but plan for
them. Decide on which of them you want to do, anytime you feel like this
way. I mean do not be in a position where you are not sure of what to do.
For example, whenever you are over-excited, you can make it a habit to
go for a hard run. Do this exercise any time you feel over-excited.
How are you putting your excess energy to positive use?
Thanks for your time.
See you another time.
