THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Believers are called to shine as lights in a darkened world. It’s important to shine as lights wherever we go. When you walk to a place soaked with darkness, your light should expel darkness. When you appear on the scene, your light should change the atmosphere.
The Apostle Paul said “all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light”[Ephesians 5:13]
People should come near you and discover who they are. Your light is made to manifest the wonders of God in others.
Men don’t look at your face, they look at your light. The extent at which you shine depends on how yielded you are to Christ. The only way to get this light is by following Jesus(John 8:12).
The goal is to attract men with your light, which in turn attracts them to God.
“And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it's placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don't hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven." [Matthew 5:15-16 TPT]
The output energy of the sun is 70000 horsepower per sq.yd. per minute, and the temperature at the surface is about 10000°F. Despite the greatness of the sun, God didn't call it the light of the world–You are!
If you don't shine as a light, that’s a plus to darkness.
ACTION POINT
Examine your life and see if you are still shinning as light. Is your light still as bright as when you started? How many souls have been attracted to God via your light? Answer these questions and do the needful.
PRAYER
I am the light of the world, a city set on a hill, my life cannot be hidden. I draw my light from Jesus, therefore, I refuse to walk in darkness.
