Today I had a great harvest of apple fruit from our backyard, it was so freshy and juicy.
As it is usually said, one apple a Day keeps the doctor away, that prompted me in making more findings about the benefits and the nutritional content of apples. In my curiosity as a chemist which I am, I needed to verify that statement " 1 apple a Day keeps the doctor away". It was actually to my greatest surprise to found out that an apple fruit actually contains more nutrients than what I thought.
I will share some of it nutritional content here and why we should all be taking at least an apple 🍎 a day.
Apple fruits are rich in essential vitamins and minerals like:
Vitamin C. (Ascorbic acid) For immune system booster etc
Vitamin A in form of Beta Carotene, for vision.
Vitamin K, and B-complex.
It also contains some minerals like:
K, Mg, Ca also in minor quantity including Fe, Zn etc
The most interesting part is that it contains Quercetin, Catechin, Flavonoids and Anthocyanins all which plays important role in the functionality of the human system.
Truly an apple a Day keeps the doctor away.
