SERENITY

I ventured off the beaten path
my escape from society’s wrath.

A world where money is the focus
I left that swarm of locusts.

My soul they can no longer fleece
I have found spiritual peace.

My world is full of awe
I drink in things I never saw.

The mighty trees
swaying in the breeze

their simple dance
puts me in a trance

I now listen carefully
birds chirping merrily.

I breathe in fresh air
lifting all despair.

My mind is now opened
full of positivity, hope, and

a new amenity
I call serenity!
