The Sound of Rain

I love the sound of rain on my window pane,
I love the sound of rain when it falls on end,
Thunderstorms, lightning, the howling wind,
Bedfellows of the rain as it goes insane.

I love the sound of rain late at night,
Snug up in bed, at the sound I smile,
Sorries I send to those not yet in bed,
Will give nothing to be in their stead.
