Life’s Litmus

Celebrate and a bunch of friends you'll see
They will appear like bees, of nectar long denied
Weep and your swarm of friends will run
The world has more need of laughter
Than the need to share your pain
With naught to gain, none will lend a hand.

Lend more ears to people, hear what makes them tick
A man’s heart can be gleaned in words he sometimes speaks
Give gaps to ‘’saints’’ who claim they do God’s tasks
Great evil hides often behind such masks
An outward mien of sanctity does not a good man make
Beneath the Godly surface, they are always on the take.

They talk too much, who have little else within
Emptier still the tales they often bring
Beware of the silent ones who hardly say a word
Stealthy as shadows, they can kill with a sword
Folks who lean on people, find time against them run
Await no man, fend for yourself.

Beware of smiles that have no sun
A shake that goes beyond the hand
A tattle tale with the latest news
Along life’s path, more we are bound to learn.

Beware of smiles that have no sun
A shake that goes beyond the hand.

This poem is so beautiful and it has a lot more deep meanings along its lines.

Keep steeming,
