Kodon is a virtual modeling and sculpting tool for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality VR headsets. It allows people without any art skills to create and edit 3D models with ease by wearing any of the aforementioned Virtual Reality Headsets. It is also a powerful productivity tool for artists who want to take their creativity to the next level with Virtual Reality.
Kodon aims to become a semi-pro / pro tool that can compete with the existing desktop alternatives for model creation.

Carving a statue or an object requires high skill. With this tool, people who only have low skills can use VR technology to make a work. I can't wait to try it.
I have approved it :)

This is certainly a great application. 'Sculpting' in a wider context is something that is necessary to allow us to use technology in our everyday lives where we don't use the common fix input devices (keyboard, mouse, pointers), but create things with our hands. Interesting, years ago, a company like the Norwegian Uformia / Uformit created sculpting extension to 3D design programs like Rhino. This seems to be the next step, applying similar technology to VR. Great Hunt.
Wow, I'm amazed by how much VR has advanced. I really don't have time to update myself with in this field and steemhunt is really now my source for this type news.
I also like the idea behind the product. Although I haven't really used any VR platform nowadays except for dlux-io, I believe there's really a whole new world in VR and AR. Looking forward to more advancements and actual use cases for VR/AR.
P.S. I wish they had a more beautiful model used in demonstrating their product instead of a monster amd skul..
Kodon is an amazing tool to make different models and sculptures. This doesn't need any professional training or to be a good artist. Anyone can make a masterpiece. I previously thought VR is only for viewing headsets are just to visualize things but now I know it can also be used to make such great designs.
My younger brother is a beginner at art and he is a fan of VR technology too. I will show this to him so he can learn something from it.
Oh wow! This is a really stunning use-case for VR, which opens up 3D modelling and artistic creation to non-programmers & artists.
Being able to create this way in 3D space, virtually moving and manipulating your creation would be so freeing. I can imagine losing all sense of time and becoming totally engrossed in the creative process.
And them, sending your creation to a 3D printer! Amazing.
Not only would non-professionals and non-artists get so much from this software, but so too would model creators, character designers (both film & gaming), installation artists...there are just so many professions who could benefit.
When you see VR used in such ways, it really gives you hope for the future of the tech.
Great hunting (so excited) :)
It is pretty cool what the VR world will bring on the free market. Can you imagine to create something easily even if your artistic skill is not at the top? Can be used in school, even to teach art or create innovative car design for an example.
I'm very exited to see this kind of stuff. Like someone who is doing sculpting in blender, this can be very interesting. The level of details is probably still not that great on these.
I can assure that this application will be more efficient than the current programs to design 3D characters, since it will be much easier although it will depend on the level of the artist but I am sure it will be more efficient, the only bad thing is that by law you will have to have Some device compatible with the VR, which will not be so efficient that only have a computer and work, also it may be that the program requires higher requirements on the computer to run correctly than similar applications currently.
Wow! I just wish that this was created a few decades back when I was a kid and still trying to learn sculpting. it would have saved a lot of money on clay, tools and more clay!
