Be part of my Prague story!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Once upon a time, there was a wish named Prague.

She stayed quiet and hopeful in my mind until I got decided to give her wings. It happened on March 29th. Sunny day and with my heart full of joy. Do you know what's the charm of a trip? Spending that time and sharing those places with someone beloved. In my case, it was my boyfriend, a presence more than enough with whom my wish became Lovely Prague instead of Prague!

"This song says, no matter who you are,
No matter where you go in your life
At some point, you're going to need
Somebody to stand by you."

Do you recognize the lyrics?

Yes, you're right! It's about Stand by me of John Lennon ♫♪♫

Above you can see the Lennon Wall. It represents a memorial to John Lennon and his ideas for peace, but also a monument to free speech of the Czech youth. And... to be honest... those colors are amazing! I took many pictures there... you know how women are; they have some guilty pleasures: candies, photos, men's annoyance (this is a joke... I swear on behalf of feminine majority) and so on.

I have a personal little tradition, in every place I go I like to visit panoramic points. Obviously, I didn't miss the opportunity here once I found out about Petřín Lookout Tower. Even if it's a loose copy inspired by the Eiffel Tower (at a ratio of 1:5) with around 64 meters high, the view from its top overlooks the whole city and this is all that matters.

My boyfriend wanted to reconquer me and offered me a nettle. Here's the proof.
If you're wondering if he succeed, the answer is... yes, he did it.

If you want to walk a lot and don't feel how time passes across the streets full of historical buildings and others designed by renowned architects in the some time... Prague has undoubtedly the winning ticket.

Dancing House - the nickname of this building is "Fred and Ginger Building", after the legendary dance duo, due to it resembling two buildings dancing.

The Prague Astronomical Clock is a symbol of the Czech capital with a lot of legends. One of them says that clock-maker was chosen by the Councillors of Prague to construct a unique clock with many others functionalities. After he had introduced his wow machine to the Councillors they got scared. They wanted the astronomical clock to stay unique and they worried that the clock-maker could make a similar machine for another town. So they were thinking how to get rid of him. One night a few people broke into the man's house and they blinded him with a piece of iron. He knew very well who was behind that and therefore he asked one of his apprentice to go with him to the very heart of the time machine. The apprentice did what he was told and the clock-maker, stopped the clockwork and it was fixed it one century later.

In the end, I'm inviting you to a boat tour across to Vltava river.

I definitely like that flower! It's so romantic... :)

Nice trip and perfect weather. I will be starting tomorrow for 2 days in Prague, old town, but probably will not be able to see anything, because I will be locked in a conference room till late evening and then will need to entertain some people ;)
If I get out, I will post some pictures.

You can check if you'll be around Vyšehrad area, very close we found the best food in town at Pod Vysehradem restaurant.
Good luck with the conference!

Thanks for the advice! If I manage to be alone I will definitely go there! I'm a food addict, which also can be seen on my body, round body ;)

I've tried there the best tartar ever, but they have a lot of Czech specialties: roasted knee pork, duck with red cabbage, sausages and.... of course beer. So much beer... everywhere!

Beautiful pictures. Actually, I am the photographer :)

As usually :)) It's a Rudi feature :))

I want to say Rudi's boys are very special.
