The 21st Century Christian
Philipians 3: 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ the son
Christians of our era seem to be biased towards miracles and great works. Manifesting powers and intelligence beyond the realms of the earth and things that the human brain simply cannot comprehend nor science explain. However, when it comes to hard work that ought to be done to gain these gifts, they frown and run away, they want absolutely no suffering at all and yet want all the great things to be manifested through them, forgetting that even before Christ was seated at the right hand of the father he had to crucified, buried and resurrected, he had to live among men in flesh and had to be tempted by the devil on countless occasions even when he was fasting. But at the end he received the ultimate crown and by his suffering we are now living in the dispensation of Grace.
If we want to be great as the Prophets mentioned in the bible, as powerful as these great men of old and new, then we should know that it will not be on a silver platter. God would not just hand it over to us despite the fact that we are living in the dispensation of Grace. We have to work hard to bring our gifting into the level we want to be and even harder to gain those we do not have. We ought to understand that the suffering is part of the process and thus we should look at the end goal and what we hope to achieve. Do not be the 21st Century Christian who works for nothing but wants everything, it is against the laws of nature, work hard for what you want and God will surely Crown your efforts with Success. Have a blessed Day even as you ponder over the message.
