La Feria de la Virgen del Rosario Festival in Fuengirola

Last year I had the chance to attend one of Fuengirola’s most important festivals, La Feria de la Virgen del Rosario. This is one of the most popular festivals on the Costa del Sol. The celebration began with a romero mass held at the church in Plaza de la Constitución for the Virgin. Following that a parade of traditional carts, horse riders, romeros and decorated vehicles made its way to the Virgen del Rosario church.

As in every year the parade was held at Fuengirola's fairgrounds. Like other festivals this one featured traditional amusement rides, as well as stalls selling snacks, sandwiches, fried dough and cotton candy. There were also many booths where we could dance, have a drink or eat something. The celebration included horse shows, music performances, fireworks displays and various activities for children. The festive atmosphere continued in the booths until the early morning hours.
