First Lights in Fuengirola

The coast of Fuengirola is located in the southernmost part of Spain. It is famous for its sandy beaches, clear and sunny days. And relatively comfortable summer temperatures. The dry climate and the light, refreshing breeze from the sea prevent you from feeling the full brunt of the stifling heat during the summer months.

However those who love swimming in warm sea water should remember a particular feature of this region. The water here rarely exceeds 24 degrees celsius. Changes in wind direction often lead to a drop in temperature due to the influx of cold water brought by numerous currents. Finding yourself suddenly in an icy stream that barely reaches 20 degrees is a completely natural occurrence.

This doesn’t bother me much. Every morning, I take long swims alone. Throughout our vacation it has been difficult to find anyone to accompany me. Watching the sun slowly rise over the sea while the traces of sleep are still in my eyes is a delightful experience. The beach gradually takes on a golden glow. Watching this magnificent display of nature generally fills me with a sense of peace and gratitude. It is an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to everyone.
