5 Things I am Loving About Madrid..
I've had a lot of amazing moments so far in Madrid, it's only been 2 weeks and it feels like I've been here forever. I cannot imagine what the coming months will have in store for me but all I can say is, I am super duper excited for it.
In this mini blog post, I thought I'd share with you some of my Fave moments from being here. Everyday there's something new to try or experience or learn and that's probably the beauty of traveling.
Spotting Historical Buildings...
I don't think anyone could ever have enough of this. Buildings here, especially in the city have so much history and attention to detail. It is mind blowing to say the least.
Cooking & Trying Out New Food.....
This has been a little bit tough but fun at the same time. It's great to learn of new foods and also to see how different familiar food is prepared out here. The taste is also REALLY different. Once a week I try to make a Kenyan dish so I can share part of my culture with my Host. So far so good they love every dish I've prepared. Which has been Ugali, chapati and some beef stew. Oh, and some Mandazi!
Wine Tasting...
This is still blowing my mind. I go to the wine store and come out more overwhelmed of the wide array to choose from. It's also crazy cheap compared to back in Kenya. It's going to take some strength to avoid taking wine with every other meal. Wish me luck 😅👌🏾
Exploring...
So far I have been to 2 museums and a conservation center of some sort, LA Pedriza, I enjoy being in nature and this place had so much of it to offer. I have been meaning to get that blog & Vlog posts out since visiting but it's been pretty hectic to get everything going, but you can look out for that by the end of this week for sure.
Practicing /Learning a New Language..
I can't say this is my best exercise, but I understand it's important and it's highly helping me get out of my comfort zone. For someone who's been a grammar nazi in English, I feel very stupid to not comprehend the basic linguistic phrases. I have struggled a lot to get this going, yet majority seem to think Spanish is the easiest language one could ever learn. Perhaps I am struggling with perfectionism and the shame of not getting it at a go, but I do strongly believe great things take time and I will slowly grasp this new language, and perhaps even start to enjoy speaking it. Wish me luck 😒😁💕
Very nice report! I have been to Madrid about 8 or 9 years ago and I love this city.
