To you who belong to the special people of God, and who continue to believe in Jesus Christ and live very close to him, I send you my regards.

Introduction

Consider the following: If God listens to our petitions and loves us so much that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, why does it seem that he takes so much time to respond to some of our most urgent requests?

In the present message we will carefully review eight important reasons that will allow us to answer the question we have posed. In the same way, your comments as a reader can enrich the subject in a more special way.

We will take biblical support for the study of Genesis 45:25 and Genesis 46: 4.

1. Our doubts.

If there is someone who wants us to trust Him completely, it is God. Certainly, God wants us to go to Him with our needs without doubting His love, power and provision for us (James 1: 5-8). Always remember that, with faith, everything is possible (Mark 9:23).

2. Our attempts at manipulation.

If we approach God with the intention of controlling and manipulating Him, we should not expect an answer to our prayers (1 Samuel 13: 9-14). He is the Lord, we are the servants.

3. The wrong motivation.

If we believe that egocentric petitions and those contaminated with bad intentions will receive answers from God, we are completely wrong (James 4: 3). God refuses to be part of our desires and machinations.

4. Our disobedience.

Remember this: our sin can cause God to retain his merciful hand (Ps 81: 10-12). If we disobey his commandments and refuse to repent, he will abandon us to the stubbornness of our hearts. He will withdraw his favor and wait until we are ready to face our sin, to answer us.

5. Our lack of responsibility.

Do not expect that God will have to reward a lazy and negligent person (Pr 19:15). The Lord has to take care of himself; and we have ours. Always work responsibly.

6. Rejection of God's method.

Do not dismiss the way God provides your needs, just because it does not fit your expectations or criteria (Joshua 6).
A man named Naaman was about to make that mistake, which would have cost him his health (2 Kings 5: 8-14).

7. The reorientation of God.

Sometimes, God is in the process of redirecting us or preparing us for something new (Gn 37; 39-50). God loves to do new and wonderful things with his people (Isaiah 43: 19).

8. God's desire to teach us.

God may want us to focus on our spiritual and eternal needs, so that we learn to trust Him in all things and for everything (Isaiah 55).

Even when God delays his answers, he commands us to continue praying (Luke 18: 1-8). He also wants us to trust Him in every step of our life. Prayer is an act of faith, because when we pray, we are basically saying: "Lord, you know all things, and I need your direction, strength, peace and power."

God responds without fail when we cry out to him.
