The miracle of bread.

The miracle of bread teaches us to depend on God. When Christ satisfied five thousand people, the bread was not within reach. It was quite obvious that he had no means at his disposal.

He was in the desert, surrounded by 5,000 people, not including women and children.

He did not call the crowd to follow him there. They wanted to be with Him themselves and therefore they came without invitation or order.

But he knew that after listening to his instructions all day, they were hungry and weak. They were far from home and night fell. Many of them did not have the means to buy food. He who fasted for forty days in the desert for his sake could not allow them to go home hungry.

Jesus was in this place by the providence of God; To satisfy basic needs, he completely depended on Heavenly Father. We must also trust God when we are in difficulties. In every need, we must ask the One at whose disposal are inexhaustible reserves.

By performing this miracle, Christ received from the Father and gave it to his disciples; the disciples distributed bread to the people, and the people passed it among them. Likewise, all who are in union with Christ will receive the bread of life from Him and pass it on to others. Christ's disciples are called to be the connecting link between Him and the people.
