The five-year-old, pictured in a Sunderland shirt, was taken back to A&E as it was revealed he insisted on going to support his team despite his debilitating cancer fight.

A post on Facebook read: "We checked and double checked with Bradley if he still wanted to go to the match today and he insisted he was going. He has fantastic determination and will power and who are we to disagree with him."

It added that Bradley had enjoyed an "amazing day", despite being in a lot of pain with his legs.

Bradley has had an amazing day, we didn't think we would get there as you are all aware he is in a lot of pain with his legs and you could see this in the photos taken today. We checked and double checked with Bradley if he still wanted to go to the match today and he insisted he was going. He has fantastic determination and will power and who are we to disagree with him 😂. I also thought we would leave early but Bradley had other ideas and stopped till the very end. He is very tired now and we back at hospital chilling out watching horrid Henry. Thank you to everyone who supported Bradley today and bought a match day program.
Bradley has appeared as a mascot for Sunderland and England this season and was given 41st place in the Grand National.

It comes after his mum revealed the five-year-old's cancer has "progressed a lot".

The youngster had been experiencing pain in his legs over the past few weeks and MRI scans confirmed the disease has progressed.

Bradley has been experiencing a lot of pain over the past few weeks with his legs. Originally we thought it might of been off him doing to much playing. However he went down for an emergency MRI today and it has been confirmed that his cancer has progressed a lot and this is what is causing the pain.

Lowery's family recently thanked Sunderland hitman Defoe for being such a good friend to the five-year-old during his battle with cancer.

The visit of Swansea is likely to be Defoe's final home game for the club, with him expected to depart following relegation.

“Bradley loves Jermain and the bond between them is special," Gemma told the Sunderland Echo.

"We will never forget how he has helped cheer Bradley up and put a smile on his face when nothing else could.

“The same goes for Sunderland football club, I can honestly say that they have done everything they can to support us and helped make special memories.”
