Traveling to Calgary, Alberta, Canada - (About Huge Downtown, Fun Park, Historic Lougheed House, and Other Cool Places)
Calgary is an urban city in Alberta, Canada. Its population is about 1 250 000 people. It is considered as the largest city in Alberta and fourth largest in Canada.
To be honest, I didn't expect this city to be so huge. For some reason I thought it would be a small city. Downtown looked not a lot smaller than Toronto (largest city in Canada), if not the same!
I don’t have a lot of really good pictures of downtown, so I have to show you one picture, which is not mine.
Pretty huge city!
So, here is my journey at Calgary..
We started our day at the MARKET Restaurant, where we tried Canadian dishes: pork belly and scallops, and duck confit with waffles with some great Canadian beer!
Later, we went to the heart of downtown, where we found out about hundred different restaurants and many shops and huge mall!
We probably spend most of our day there, but later we went to Central Memorial Park.
We found a lot of cool statues and a beautiful fountain there. I think it is a great place to relax and take some pictures!
Also, we found this thing in downtown area. I have no idea how this works, but this is pretty cool! It tells you how many cyclists were on the road. I assume they use some kind of application on the phone.
Here are some more photography of Calgary city..
Next day, we went to Lougheed House.
Lougheed House is a must see historic site in Calgary. The mansion was built in 1891 by Senator James Alexander Lougheed for family.
Lougheed House received important state visitors on many occasions. In 1912, the Duke and Duchess of Connaught and their daughter Princess Patricia stayed at the house. In 1919, the Lougheeds entertained the Prince of Wales at a garden party. Prince Edward visited again in 1923 and 1928. Other notable visitors included Governor General Lord and Lady Byng; Prince Erik of Denmark (1928); Lord and Lady Willingdon; and the Right Honourable Stanley Baldwin.

At the Lougheed House they serve regular brunch and tea time sweets with sandwiches. We decided to go with regular brunch, which was pretty good!
On our trip, we also went to Calgary's art museum and to a really fun heritage town, but this is something I will write about in my next posts because there is a lot to talk about! :) Stay Tuned.
Pictures were taken with Samsung Galaxy s8.

I was there as a kid and we visited the badlands and found some dinosaur bones. Fun times....
oh wow... where did you find it? was it just laying on the ground?
No,... we had to dig for it. It was a field filled with small dinosaur bones. My brothers and Inspent the day digging and digging.
it looks very modern and tidy!! You got a beautiful weather so that the location looks even more attractive ! I really like scallop!! enjoy it !!! Hope to visit Canada soon!!
you should definitely visit it someday , great place :) thanks for reading
We have some of those cycle signs in Norway as well, but from what I have understood, I believe it only counts the number of bikes which have passed on the road next to the sign, and sometimes it gets triggered by humans as well. Sometimes, when nobody is watching, I pretend to be a bicycle;)
haha I would love to see that!
Haha, i'm sure it must be quite a sight.
WISH I COULD TRAVEL THERE ONE DAY
@originalworks
I've yet to go to Calgary. I hear the rodeo is a great time to go. Love that the first restaurant you went to was black and white!
I didn't even realize that it is divided to black and white lol thanks for reading :)
