THE VIEW FROM A WORLD WITHIN OUR WORLD - 23 OF A SERIES

Two days ago on a hike, we came across this wonderful little pile of mushrooms that literally came up through the gravel portion of the trail.

This is the view from the top of them.

This is just a bit more up close than the first one. Isn't it interesting how they just take the gravel up with them as they grow?.............and then...............

This is day two of their existence. Due to a trip to Canada yesterday, we didn't get to hike again until today. Sadly, they were mostly gone......a pile of mush all in the matter of four days. But, such is the life of a mushroom. I wonder what it's like up under there?
