Jeungki
Hi friend, how are you? Today I want to talk about a traditional Acehnese rice pounder called Jeungki. In ancient times, in every house there must have been Jeungki for pounding rice.
Jeungki is made of strong wood so it is very resistant when used to pound rice.
The people of Aceh used to plant rice and pound their own rice. Therefore, in every resident's house there must be a Jeungki or rice pounder in front of it.
The ancient people were also very good at pounding rice. Usually rice is pounded by two people where one person swings the rice pounder using his feet and one person guards and picks up rice that is scattered on the rice pounder.
