Today I saw a pheasant in the woods.
Today I decided to go for a walk in the woods. It was cold, there was a lot of snow and the weather was wonderful but cold.
I was walking along the path, enjoying the peace and quiet, when suddenly I saw something unusual. There was a pheasant standing in the snow!
I had never seen pheasants in winter before.
In summer there are many of them in the forest, but in winter they hide in the thickets to keep from freezing. And this pheasant seemed to be hungry or just curious. He was scared of me and even started to run away.
I stood for a while and watched him. The pheasant was a beautiful bird. It had shiny plumage with brightly colored spots. It wandered slowly through the snow, pecking at something under my feet.
