Carpenter Bee # Macro Photography
In taking this picture, there are some angles that I take, unfortunately, I can not take from the front. Several times I tried to approach it from the front, but it did not work, it flew quickly when I tried it.
This is the appearance of bees that I took from the side. In this take, I use flash -1/3, my goal is to get good detail from some parts of this bee.
For the front, especially the eyes, I do not get the full picture, so I'm just using the object balance in the composition alone.
The carpenter's bee is an insect that likes to make holes in dry wood, some species in the genus are very difficult to distinguish, most of them all black.
Carpenter bees are species in the genus Xylocopa of the subfamily Xylocopinae. The genus includes some 500 species in 31 subgenera. The common name "carpenter bee" derives from their nesting behavior; nearly all species burrow into hard plant material such as dead wood or bamboo. The main exceptions are species in the subgenus Proxylocopa; they dig nesting tunnels in suitable soil. Read more : Wikipedia

What amazing photographs @ejhaasteem. Is this a black bee? I have never heard of such a thing?
Thank @gillianpearce, some people call it black bee, may be just different mention in some places.
Great shots! Keep trying for the face! It's too bad macro subjects don't take direction very well! ;)
thanks for your advice, i will keep trying for some other object from the right direction...
No, I meant the bees/flies/spiders etc don't listen or pose correctly even if you tell them too. :P
You're doing great, just keep at it! :)
