I relate with this quote very much because, it is something that happened to me a while back.
I was involved in a business that failed despite my putting in my best, making sure the the processes were verified, dotted every "i" and crossed every "t".
After it failed (costing me huge amounts of money) I couldn't forgive myself because, I kept replaying it in my mind the measures I took to make sure I delivered. I felt ashamed and decided to not bother about trying.
But as you know, men like us don't stay down for too long so, I ventured out again but with some kind of panic and fear of failing. I did two other ventures and failed even before I started.
If you fear you will fail, chances are, you are programming your mindset to see every reason why you will fail and never giving a chance of winning.
Learn to take on your assignations with confidence even if you feel you are least qualified.
Fear destabilizes beause, it takes you on a "trip" to nowhere but outside good reasoning. You cannot overpower what you fear.
Failure is normal with success because, in every way, it compliments you and helps you decide your path either on the good or bad side.
You failed again? So what???
Failure is a sign you got out of your comfort zone to do something.
Don't make the greatest mistake that cripples and has crippled many destinies. Make conscious efforts to push hard at your goal and make fear your budget whenever it creeps in.
