FLIPISM: Can Steemians adopt it for gains?

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Life is but a gamble! Let flippers chart your ramble.

I was going through my collections of quotes and I happened on this particular one and it got me thinking. Can this work? Can Steemians adapt this method to getting good visibility, reputation and payouts?

Flipism is a psuedophililosophy under which all important decisions are made with the flipping of a coin. It sounds like gambling right? Yea well, it is what it is. This is as created by Carl Barks in the 1953 Disney Comic books, titled Flip Decision.

In the comic, Donald Duck was persuaded by Professor Batty to make every of his life decisions by flipping a coin.
That was pretty simple the minute he decided to let the flip take charge of thinking; and then there are the turns that weren't meant to be taken that he turned and the turns he was meant to turn that turned him over. You need to read the comic to understand the story.

FLIPISM & LIFE.

Everyday, I see lots of people get onboarded into the Steemit ecosystem and it gladdens my heart. It also shows that the efforts of the founding fathers isn't a waste.
Many have been through the valley of the shadows of failures, failures that still hunts them. Then you happened on them and tell them there is a way out for them to decide how they earn, and when they do come over, they start earning and making good with their lives. They just flipped the coins and the rest as they say is history. Thumbs up to the founders!

The founding fathers did all they could to make sure we are here today and becoming stars of our own Broadway shows, but they could have been only able to do that much. It is now up to us to make important decisions that will help chart a way forward for the new generation of Steemians.

Flipism is not that bad, it just is there to help the individual make decisions without any information whatsoever. It is letting some persons, things, incidences and in our case software make the decisions for us and we stand back and take whatever results it hands us. The biggest decisions in life are mostly now being made through this system of Flipism and every one of us are celebrated Flippist.

FLIPISM & STEEMIT

Success on Steemit can be very hard and farfetched and many think it just happens overnight. As a Steemian, the payouts should not be the reason why you are here... okay, it may be why we are all here but then, are we not supposed to work before getting paid?

Before you delve into this ecosystem, you must start by identifying the best decision to make about the communities you join, the friends you make, the articles you write, the resources you use, the information you source and then the payout you will not get disappointed at when you get it.

This can be hard because you have truly used your head in the past to make decisions and ended up in the sorry state you found yourself before landing on Steemit. So, acting like Donald Duck while I am your Professor Batty, will you decide to flip a coin on every important decision you have to make on this platform?

You must model an ideal decision maker or making system that is able to compute with perfect accuracy the limits and boundaries based on a fully rational endpoint.

Steemit is an intellectual social network website; that said, you must then perfectly model an ideal decision making system that will help you achieve results. Many make the mistake to look at what others do on Steemit and then start something similar with a bid to see if they can earn what that person earns.
The models of two individuals are always different and this is true even if it is designed by the same person.

On Steemit and the business you do, you must rationally choose a perfectly rational strategy that will help you decide what the cost of information and the expected value will be.

Flipism is a perfectly rational strategy which helps you decide what to do between choosing the cost of information and its expected value. Many get information that they need at any cost and they forget to factor in the expected value of that information in terms of results.
Writing is not what Steemit is about, it is about being creative, loving, collaborative and all inclusive. Without getting these perfectly synced with your understanding and the pursuit of purpose, you will not be truly able to achieve perfection or rest.

You should be able to decide if you want to make decisions yourself or if you want to allow some tech do that for you. Whatever decisions you are to make must be the one that will serve your best interest, and if you decide to go through your day like Donald Duck in the Disney Comic, Flipping Decisions, by all means please do.

LESSON LEARNT

I was not sure if that decision by Donald Duck to take Professor Batty up on that dare was a good idea and less than 2 minutes after he decided to allow the Flip decide what he should do, he was pulled over by the cops and fined $50 for driving the wrong way.
Now ask yourself:-

  • Was he fined because he drove badly or because he drove the wrong way?
  • If he had driven the right way and drove badly, would he sill be fined?
  • If he didn't flip the coin that morning, would he have been stopped and fined by taking the wrong direction?

You never will truly know what the day would turn out to be and when it does happen you will ask if you made the right decision. So you can start by being Flippist or by just making decisions based on your perception of how you think things should be.

Can Flipism help you here on Steemit? Flipism is in now way a lazy or a fool's way of making decision, it is simply playing to the tune of Life being a gamble, and it is no different here o Steemit.

There is no bad approach to steemit, except plagiarism and spam. Everything else will be of profit if you add enough consistency to match the scales !

Thanks for sharing this great article.

Thank you for reading and I like your point of view. Consistency is key to achieving success in everything we do.

You might be talking about something or someone else 😉

Really? We are all someone else to someone else who all need to be told something, I guess.

Whatever you do may seem insignificant to you, but it is most important that you do it.
