Betrayal can be painful and hard to get over. When someone is hurt by someone they love, they are ripped from inside out and then they show an outward appearance that weeps.
Betrayal is as old as time and no one can really say why it happens except that, it happens. One of the earliest betrayal story I ever heard is of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus Christ with a kiss.
I Feel Blessed!
How do you cope with betrayal and how do you get over it? Is it easy? What processes of healing do you apply to stay healed?
In our everyday life, we go through some sorts of betrayal and more than ever, it is mostly from the people we love, trust or believe in. In the work place, worship place, homes, relationship and anywhere, betrayal is everywhere and sometimes, it helps us understand the people in our lives better and or turns us away from them permanently.
No one is immuned from betrayal and the more you love or care about people, the more you are likely to get betrayed. Man cannot stay numb with himself because, betrayal ooozes from his pores and no matter how anyone will convince you that, your secret is safe with them, the more you should be aware of the exposure of it.
Betrayal in intimate relationship is the most common. One partner tells the other of their undying love and then still promises that same to someone else outside. They carry on like nothing happened and live through life making the others feel stupid and at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, the one who was once a loving person cries his hurt, while the one who committed the deed moves on to the next one.
I have been betrayed and I too have betrayed someone(s), an act I really wish I didn't commit. Betrayal oozes from the skin and it only takes a heart of forgiveness to not betray and then be able to forgive when they are betrayed.
These little things we do with hopes they will not be used against us, are daily being piled up and just one day, it will be dumped and then the hurt will be so much for the betrayal.
Secrets leads to betrayal. I don't have a secret, and you shouldn't. It is a burden to have and keep one for as long as you can because, there will be times when you wish you could tell someone.
Am surprised you don't keep secrets. I have different people I confide different things to, but generally do not trust anyone that much to be totally open. It may be unhealthy in the long run though, so you're probably right
Trust is so fickle and when someone betrays out trust it really really hurts. That is particularly why I detest the fraudulent nature of our society, because good, trusting people increasingly find it difficult to cope here
I agree it is not normal to not have a secret or keep one and there is a reason. We all have secrets, but the minute we start glorifying them as secrets that "needs" to be kept, we become lost to the essence of why not we a secret in the first place. Don't even get me started on trust.
Husssshhhh.. I have a secret and will tell if you want me to.... there is no secret.
Stay awesome!

Maybe forgiving is the cure :)......I guess
Yes, betrayal actually comes through the closest person to you. The example of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. Good post, thanx.
