El "Bicho canasto". -- The "basket bug".
El comunmente llamado "Bicho canasto" es una larva dentro de un envoltorio hecho con seda y restos de vegetales. Dentro de este se aloja el gusano.
En el caso de las hembras, viven toda su vida dentro del "Canasto", mientras que los machos toman forma de polilla grande color grisáceo y blanco.
Estas larvas comen de día y de noche, en el caso de los machos viven hasta que fecundan una hembra y después de eso mueren. En el caso de las hembras coloca sus huevos dentro del canasto, (En promedio 800) y muere dejando sus crias.
The commonly called "Basket Bug" is a larva inside a wrapper made of silk and vegetable scraps. Inside this the worm is housed.
In the case of the females, they live their entire lives inside the "Basket", while the males take the form of a large grayish and white moth.
These larvae eat day and night, in the case of males they live until they fertilize a female and after that they die. In the case of females, it places its eggs inside the basket, (on average 800) and dies leaving its young.
Que la ternura de ver estos canastos no te hagan olvidar que son estos quienes comen las hojas de tus plantas y arbustos.
