How will the future look like when we do not have open source? Especially the IoT space needs open source to prevent dominance by a few companies and silo solutions with vendor lock-in.
Eclipse SmartHome is the leading open source framework to allow anybody to create vendor independent smart home solutions. The framework will sit right in the middle of all your sensors and devices, supporting more than 200 different communication technologies.
You like to control a Philips Hue led bulb, a Bose speaker, a Marantz HIFI system, a Nest thermostat, a Somfy curtain system and KODI all from the same controller? Eclipse SmartHome all supports them; No more silo solutions, no more vendor lock-in! How cool is that?!
Are you a solution provider, or a software engineer? Get down to it, and design your own smart home controller.
Are you an automation enthusiast, check out the reference solution created by the community: openHAB2.

Sounds like a good solution. Having an integrated system would be much better then a dozen separate ones. Everything on one remote is way more efficient and convenient. Cool find

Fully agree :) BTW, it's much more than a remote, it is the heart of a smart home solution consisting of a central processing and business logic unit. A remote can be connected as another controlling device.
Congratulations!
