ecoDesigns Weekly Meeting and Plan of Action

Today, Trainees and Trainers of @ecodesings and volunteers of @thegreens held their weekly meeting to establish a road map for their textile recycling and fashion designing project.
Attended by all 11 trainees and trainers of @ecodesigns and chaired by @thegreens Founder/Executive Director, @mr-greens, the meeting deliberated and approved a plan of action for the month as follows;

Textile Recycling

It was agreed that each trainee produce at least Two metres square ( 2M sq) per week of ecoDesigned Fabric from the upcycling (patch work) of textile offcuts.
In a bid to support Internally Displaced Persons, it was resolved that we produce 20 Mattresses and Pillows from textile upcycling and donate to internally displaced persons of in the North West Region on the 17th of November 2018. Clothes Drive

In a bid to support 71 internally displaced persons with clothes, @ecodesigns is organizing a clothes drive to collect clothes and distribute for free to victims of the war. You can learn more about this and take action here;

@ecoDesigns Promo

In a bid to promote the work of @ecodesigns, it was agreed that;

1. Each Trainee bring at least 4 new/potential clients every month
2. Each Trainer bring at leat 10 new/potential clientss every month
3. We organize two Street Sales Events on the last saturday of November and on the 10th of December 2018
4. Design flyers and brochures
5. Repair our broken sig board
6. Digitalize our Clients Database and frequently communicate or update our clients of our new products and services as well as promotional sales and discounts.

Fashion Discovery and Weekly Meetings

It was agreed that we hold weekly meetings every Tuesday from 08 - 09:00AM and that a Fashion Discovery be presented by trainees and trainers during our weekly meetings. Chi Thelma volunteered to presen a Fashion Discovery during next week's meeting

Welcome Party

Ajong Marion, a new trainee of @ecodesigns promised to throw a welcome party on Thursday this week.

Machines

Updates of our @fundition crowdfunding campaign was received with soo much joy and it was resolved that this week, we will purchase two new Singer Sewing machines for the hub.

These are some resolutions that will guide us to effectively continue in our quest of training women and girls in textile recycling and fashion designing.

#Call2Action

We can do more but we lack materials and machines to increase our textile recycling and women empowerment project. We have 11 trainees and 02 Training Directors but have just 06 machines which are not enough for the 13 young girls who are striving to get empowered as well as clean-up the world. It is for this reason that @ecodesigns is striving to raise funds to purchase 7 machines so that we can double our productivity and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our textile recycling and fashion designing training.
